Proud families gathered at the town hall where the Mayor of Chesterfield, Cllr Paul Stone was among dignitaries who saw the parade set off for the Crooked Spire Church where a service took place.
Scout groups from Chesterfield, Highfield (St Andrews), Whittington, Brampton, Hasland, Wingerworth, Holymoorside and Tupton were among those taking part, accompanied by musicians from Shirebrook Miners Welfare Unison Brass Band.
On the Derbyshire Times Facebook site, Sara Fox said: “My daughter will be parading with her Scout group for an amazing seventh time. Not bad to say she’s 12.
And Natalie Gilsenan commented: “I will be there. My boy’s marching with his Beaver group.”
