A fun-packed summer fair boosted school funds to the tune of £1,500.

The Bishop of Repton, The Right Reverend Humphrey Southern, was the special guest at Calow Primary School’s summer fair, held on Saturday.

The fair featured performances from the school choir and the Chesterfield Male Voice Choir and there was a number of stalls and games to keep everyone entertained throughout the afternoon. Proceeds from the event will fund outdoor play equipment for the school.

Headteacher Martin Thacker said: “The amount raised in this current economic climate demonstrates the generosity of people in our local community.
“We are grateful to the Bishop and to all those who supported our event.”
