Savers cash in with north Derbyshire Credit Union

Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire Credit Union formally opened their new premises in the town.

The cerdit union, on Soresby Street, Chesterfield, was officially opened on May 14.

To mark the occasion, which was attended by partner organisations, councillors and community leaders, a plaque was unveiled by Chesterfield Borough Council leader Cllr John Burrows and NE Derbyshire District Council leader Cllr Graham

Three young people from Mary Swanwick School represented the many children who participate in the CNEDCU junior savers scheme.

Cllr Burrows said: “the council is committed to supporting CNEDCU and enabling it to thrive, grow and continue to serve our local communities.”

Cllr Baxter thanked the many people who freely give their time and skills as volunteers with CNEDCU and recognised the hard work and commitment of all involved in this vital service.
