DERBYSHIRE Eco Centre has been given the royal seal of approval.
The county council opened the facility last September to boost sustainability and maintain the area’s rural heritage.
The Duke of Gloucester visited the centre, on Porter Lane, Middleton-by-Wirksworth, during a tour of the county.
He unveiled a commemorative plaque and viewed learners taking part in courses including basket making and dry stone walling.
Derbyshire County Council’s deputy chief executive Bruce Buckley said: “We were delighted to welcome the Duke of Gloucester to this superb new building.”
