Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice has received a donation of £2,900 from the Rotary Club of Chesterfield, which comes from the proceeds of the club’s annual Classic Car and Bike Show held at Renishaw Hall each year. A cheque was presented to charity representative Russell Hall by Chesterfield Rotary president Mike Cudzich-Madry and Alan Clarke, the main organiser of the car show, at a recent club meeting.

Russell Hall thanked the club for its generous support for the children’s hospice which offers care and support to children with a shortened life expectancy across Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, both in their own homes and at the hospice in North Anston.

President Mike Cudzich-Madry then continued with business at the monthly business meeting held at the Olde House on Friday, October 7.

The president gave a short report on the district 1220 conference held at Scarborough. He highlighted two items, the ongoing worldwide campaign by Rotary to eradicate polio which is fully supported by the club, and an education project in the African Republic of Mali where a donation of just £12.50 per annum can fund a child’s yearly education.
