A district governor of Rotary and top brass from the town’s Probus clubs made their annual visit to Chesterfield Rotary Club.

President Jim Haggarty welcomed Rotary District 1220 Governor Dave Ashley and Probus representatives, Chesterfield Club past chairman Peter Kennett, Cavendish Club chairman Dave Berresford, Nightingale Ladies club chair Marilyn James, Eastwood Ladies Club chair Wendy Stephens, Chesterfield Scarsdale club chairman Ian Potter and Hardwick club chairman Bill Goddard.

District Governor Dave Ashley conveyed the international message of ‘Peace through Service’ from Rotary International President 2012/13 Sakuji Tanaka and on his behalf presented a presidential citation to the club, along with an origami crane, which in Japan is a sacred bird symbol of hope for peace.
