Senior citizens were entertained by singing schoolchildren and songbird Lorraine Swann at an annual Christmas party organised by Rotarians.

They enjoyed a pie and pea supper, bingo and raffle at the event which was run by the Rotary Club of Chesterfield.

Rotary President Jim Haggarty said: “The Rotary Club of Chesterfield has been holding a special Christmas party every December at Club Chesterfield for local senior citizens for many years as we know how much they are enjoyed by all those who attend.”

“He added: “It’s part of our varied programme of activities for all age groups in the local community which are all funded by the generous donations we receive from the public at such collections as Santa’s Sleigh, which will be visiting local supermarkets during December.”
