Generous fundraisers have helped cover vital medical costs for a poorly stray who was found with a massive tumour.

The elderly Staffordshire Bull Terrier, nicknamed Ronnie, was found stranded and placed with Bolsover District Council’s dog warden and the North Derbyshire Animal Support Group.

The group launched an appeal to pay for Ronnie’s surgery to have the 2kg tumour on his left foot removed as quickly possible.

A group spokesman thanked all the contributors and said donations not used for the surgery would be used to help with Ronnie’s ongoing medical costs. Those wishing to re-home Ronnie can call the group on 01246 498569.
