Roads from Chesterfield to Shefiield are to be closed for resurfacing work.

The following routes will be shut between Monday and Friday next week between 8pm and 6am each night.

- The A61 Dronfield bypass in both directions between the slip roads at Sheepbridge and Bowshaw roundabout

- The A61 Chesterfield Road South between Bowshaw roundabout and Meadowhead roundabout

- The B6057 Jordanthorpe Parkway between Bowshaw roundabout and B6158 Dyche Lane roundabout

Access will be given to emergency vehicles but a signed diversion route will be in place for other motorists.

Councillor Dean Collins, Derbyshire County Council's cabinet member for highways, transport and infrastructure, said: "Over time roads do start to naturally deteriorate from constant use and from other factors beyond our control including bad weather such as ice, snow and flooding.

"It's essential that we regularly resurface our roads so they are safe to use. We've tried to keep disruption to a minimum by carrying out the work between 8pm and 6am but please still allow extra time for your journey as there may be some delays.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope motorists will bear with us while this work takes place."
