EastEnders actor Richard Blackwood will be starring in this year’s panto at Derby Arena.

He plays Buttons in Cinderella, treading the boards alongside Eilish O’Carroll (Mrs Brown’s Boys) as the Fairy Godmother and Lloyd Warbey (Art Attack) as Dandini.

Richard, who plays Vincent Hubbard in the BBC1 soap, said: “I am so excited to be joining the cast of Cinderella at Derby Arena. I always have so much fun on stage and love having laughs with the audience.

“The show is staged by award-winning producers and will be a real spectacle sure to deliver big fun, energy, music and entertainment!”

Critically acclaimed and a regular face on the comedy circuit, he hosted his own his Channel 4 programme, The Richard Blackwood Show.

TV sensation Eilish O’Carroll starred as Winnie McGoogan in Mrs Brown’s Boys.. Now she is set to bring her Irish humour to Derby, waving her magic wand as she guides Cinderella on her journey to find true love.

Lloyd Warbey, presenter and host of legendary children’s TV classic Art Attack, will swap paintbrush for pantomime to keep the fun flowing as Prince Charming’s sidekick Dandini.

He said: “Dandini is just the perfect role for me! He has that cheeky chappy edge that everyone loves, so I’ll have so much fun bringing the character to life on stage.”

Cinderella is at Derby Arena from December 6 to January 3. Tickets priced from £11.25, call 01332 255800 or visit www.derbylive.co.uk/whats-on/cinderella1
