Rescue team launches relief appeal

Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance, which is a charity, provides daily pain relief during call-outs.

Daniel Evans, DLRAA critical care paramedic said: “Many of our patients are in severe pain. Administering immediate pain relief is a priority. We need people to support our Pain Relief Appeal so that we can continue to provide medical expertise, medicine and equipment to those who desperately need it.”

In the last 12 months, DLRAA has been called to 363 incidents in Derbyshire – that’s almost one incident every single day. Just last week, the crew were called to Hope Valley after a man suffered severe burns to his back and arms in an agricultural accident. The patient was given advanced pain relief at the scene by the crew before being airlifted to the nearest specialist burns unit.
