HUNDREDS of revellers turned out to enjoy a day of fun and raise over £5,500 during a record breaking charity day for Chesterfield’s Ashgate Hospice.
The hospice’s annual fair in its grounds off Ashgate Road helped raise the money with stalls, activities and donations on Saturday, May 12.
A hospice spokesman said: “We would like to thank all our volunteers who make events like this possible and the same goes to the generous public who came along.
“Over £5,500 was raised towards the care of our patients and their families and this figure has beaten all previous spring fairs by over £2,000. It was a great success.”
Many visitors took the chance to dedicate a Rainbow Ribbon in memory of lost loved ones which are all put on display during the summer.
