Nearly 40 children from Dronfield primary schools received the Rotary Junior Community Award thanks to The Rotary Club of Drone Valley.

The award scheme encourages young people to develop new skills and interests and shows them how they can be used to benefit both themselves and their community. It is achievable by children of all physical and academic abilities.

Awards were presented to the pupils of seven primary schools from the town at Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School by the Mayor of Dronfield, Cllr Sue Allsop.

This is the sixth year that the award scheme has been organized by The Rotary Club of Drone Valley in conjunction with the schools.

Club president Anne Ledbetter said: “We are very proud of these children, the range of award activities they have chosen continues to amaze us and I hope that they have enjoyed taking part in the scheme.”
