THE Chesterfield branch of the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Association has thanked a Newbold pub which put on a “fantastic” meal for the group.

The organisation – made up of former service personnel – presented a plaque to staff at the Olde House, on Loundsley Green Road, after the pub cooked a special dinner for more than 50 members.

Ken Truswell, vice chairman of the branch, said: “It was a fantastic meal and we’d like to say a big thank you to the wonderful staff at the Olde House.

“The whole night was very successful and well-attended.”

The group has enjoyed an annual dinner for the past five years after member Mick Giles came up with the idea.

The Chesterfield branch of the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Association meets on the last Wednesday of every month at Haig House in the town.
