About 50 firefighters tackled a big blaze at a derelict pub this morning.
Crews from Clay Cross, Alfreton, Ripley, Staveley and Belper were called to the fire at the Park House pub, on Pilsley Road, Danesmoor, at about 2.45am.
A spokesman for Derbyshire fire service said: “Initial crews faced a well-developed fire on the ground floor.
“Effective firefighting by Clay Cross crews managed to contain the spread.
“Firefighters are still at the scene damping down. The building is structurally unsafe but Pilsley Road, which was closed in both directions, has now reopened.
“An investigation into the cause of the blaze will take place later with police.”
