A Middleton pub is to close this month for two weeks whilst it undergoes the final phase of a transformational makeover.
The Rising Sun, situated at Rise End, is having a cash injection of almost £200,000 by the new licensees Stephen Merrick and Laura Clarke to refurbish the pub throughout.
There couple will be undertaking a great deal of work and plan a complete redecoration to create a “warm, cosy, look and feel” whilst keeping it traditional.
The new publicans will also be introducing locally-sourced home-made food and a good selection of drinks, including cask ale.
Stephen said: “We will be offering the community something different and a range of facilities to suit, all along with a great customer experience.
“As we approach the final stages of the refurbishment, we can already see areas that have been totally transformed and we look forward to seeing the end result in May”
The pub – which is also now Cask Marque accredited – will be closed from Monday, April 15, as the couple and owners Punch Taverns carry out the refurbishment.
