Teenagers in Bolsover have been rocking out thanks to free gigs organised by local police and youth officers.
The first Rock Night was held in Bolsover, on Friday, April 20, with more than 80 young people watching performances by local bands.
Officers from the Bolsover Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team and Derbyshire County Council’s Multi-Agency Team set up the series of rock nights after finding out what activities the young people wanted.
PCSO Ben Perry said: “The rock nights were arranged after consultation with young people in the area who were bored and wanted something to do at the weekend.
“Events like this help prevent anti-social behaviour and groups of young people hanging around on the streets.”
Two more events will run on Friday, May 25, and Friday, June 22, from 7pm to 9pm, at Bolsover Assembly Rooms.
The team also runs weekly free football sessions at Bolsover Secondary School every Friday, from 6pm to 8pm, for children aged 11-years-old and over.
