Police are hunting for two men who ran off after a car and minibus crashed.

Officers said the vehicles collided at Hassocky Lane, Temple Normanton, at 8.40pm on Saturday.

Jack Brown was travelling from London to Hasland in the Ford Transit minibus when it was hit by the Seat Leon car.

The 17-year-old student said: "The Seat was speeding and racing another sports car.

"It lost control going around a corner then destroyed a crossing and crashed into the minibus.

"The two young lads in the Seat both fled the scene but one of them later returned to grab some beer cars from the car then ran away again."

Jack added: "There were about eight people in the minibus, including myself.

"There were minor injuries.

"Someone banged their head and others suffered back injuries.

"It wasn’t a pleasant experience at all – I can't stop thinking about it.

"I hope police soon find the lads who fled the scene and they're brought to justice."

A Derbyshire police spokesman said it is believed the Seat may have been stolen.

The spokesman said: "Police officers and sniffer dogs attended the scene and searched the area to try and find the two men who fled.

"However, they couldn't find anyone.

"We’re continuing to investigate and urge witnesses or anyone with information to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
