Police appeal after cat is shot by air weapon in Chinley

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cat was shot in the face by an air weapon in Chinley.

The cat’s owner, who lives on Devonshire Drive, called police after their pet returned home at around 3pm with a wound just below its eye on Saturday.

On examination by a vet, it had been found that the cat had been shot with a pellet believed to be from an air weapon.

The pellet has been removed and the cat is now recovering.

Officers are urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area, or anyone with information relating to the attack, to get in touch.
