A SUPER cyclist is leading by example after he has agreed to take on his company’s jointly-sponsored charity cycle ride to help raise money for hospice patients.
Salesman Barry Parker, of Polaris Apparel cycle clothing, on Wreakes Lane, Dronfield, was so impressed with the Derbyshire Times’ 50 Mile Flagg ride for Chesterfield’s Ashgate Hospice his company agreed to support the event and Barry is taking on the challenge.
Barry said: “We always like to be able to support good causes including Ashgate Hospice and it’s not fair to ask people to do this ride if we don’t enter our own rider and raise some vital money.”
The Polaris salesman is part of a Team RVO elite racing team which is supported by the Cycle Store, in Congleton, and CNP.
He will be joining riders on the DT and Polaris Apparel challenge from 9.30am, on Sunday, July 22, as it rolls out from the hospice, on Ashgate Road, before going through the Peak District to Flagg and returning.
Those interested in taking part can contact Ashgate Hospice’s fundraising department on (01246) 567250 or can email firstname.lastname@example.org for entry and sponsor forms and a map. Entry costs £20 per rider.
