Owen Taylor & Sons Ltd of Leabrooks, has scooped a gold and bronze award at the annual British Pie Awards, which took place in Melton Mowbray.
The firm’s standard pork pie took gold in the pork pie class and their duck and apricot cutting pie taking bronze in the savoury pie class.
Organised and hosted by the Melton Mowbray Pie Association, the pies ranged from dessert pies, to pub pies, to pork pies and were judged by more than 100 pie experts.
Richard Taylor, from Owen Taylor, said: “We are thrilled that our hard work and passion for creating great products has been recognised at these prestigious awards.
“The standard of all the pies entered was so high and that makes winning these awards even more of an honour.”
The firm is no stranger to success having clinched a top gong in the prestigious BPEX Foodservice Pork Product of the Year competition, and their steak and ale pie took gold at the EBLEX awards.
