PICTURE: Removal van veers off Chesterfield road

This was the shocking scene on a country lane near Chesterfield yesterday after a removal van veered off a road.

A lorry crash in Dunston on Friday November 4.

The incident happened shortly after 12 noon on Friday November 4 on Dunston Road near the garden centre but nothing was reported to the police.

An eyewitness who contacted the Derbyshire Times said: “The lorry had obviously become a victim of the shocking road conditions down there - I remember a bus and a lorry in recent years also falling into the soft verge.

“I sent the image because I assumed there would be a road closure to recover the vehicle - I don’t think anybody was hurt and hopefully it wasn’t full of someone’s household valuables.”
