BUDDING snappers from across Bolsover district are being invited to take part in a photography competition that shows the area in a positive light with a health, wellbeing and physical activity theme.

Bolsover District Council is inviting people to take a photograph of someone participating in a sporting activity or physical exercise in the countryside or against a notable backdrop.

Council leader, Cllr Eion Watts, said: “Bolsover district is a wonderful area full of beautiful countryside and historic attractions that lends itself brilliantly to physical activities and we want to show it off to people as much as we can.

“The choice is yours, so long as it involves some sort of sporting or physical activity and has a positive reflection on the district so why not get snapping and send us your pictures.”

Six winning photographs will be chosen from the following Active Bolsover District areas:

1.Bolsover, 2.Clowne/ Barlborough, 3.Creswell/ Langwith, 4.Shirebrook, 5.South Normanton

and 6.Tibshelf.

The winners will each receive a £100 shopping voucher or a £100 grant for their club/group, which have been kindly donated by Bolsover Rotary Club.

The winning photographs will be exhibited during the year at a variety of venues including Bolsover Castle and Bolsover District Council offices.

The photographs will also be used in the publicity and marketing material of the council and its partners.

To enter the competition, please visit www.bolsover.gov.uk/active-bd-photography-competition and send in your photograph.
