Pensioner dies following crash in Derbyshire

The 69-year-old was behind the wheel of a car that collided with a bollard, close to Higham Fisheries on Main Road, Higham, on Friday.

A Derbyshire Police spokesman said: “A 69-year-old man has died following a collision on Main Road, Higham, at about 3.40pm on Friday, May 19.

“The car he was driving collided with a bollard close to Higham Fisheries. No other vehicles are believed to be involved and an investigation regarding the circumstances of the accident is underway.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information that would help the police is asked to call 101.
