Pedalling pals Phil Whitehead and Paul Weir have run up hundreds of pounds for a charity which raises awareness of cardiac disease.

The pair pedalled the equivalent of 132 miles and each burned off more than 8,340 calories during their 12-hour static bike ride in the Star Inn, Tideswell.

A raffle with prizes donated by many local companies helped the pals raise £900 for CRY - Cardiac Risk in the Young.

CRY was founded in 1995 to raise awareness of conditions that can lead to Young Sudden Cardiac Death and Sudden Death Syndrome.
