More than 50 big-hearted volunteers filled four trucks full of rubbish recently, by collecting other people’s litter in the Peak District National Park.
As a reward for their good work, the authority treated them to a go at climbing, high ropes or abseiling.
The Pick and Play event was organised by the Peak Park Conservation Volunteers and Castleton-based outdoor activity company Peak Mountaineering.
Litter picks were organised at Burbage Plantation, Tideswell Dale and Pindale near Castleton. Among the rubbish they collected were old tyres, a TV, a duvet, tarpaulin shelters and a multitude of cans, bottles and food-wrappers.
