A new evening of spoken word and poetry launches at a Peak District pub this month.

Poet and performer Mark Gwynne Jones will host a mix of comedy, tragedy and iridescent ideas from voices past and present on the third Thursday of every month at the Barley Mow, Bonsall.

Writers are invited to share a favourite piece of their own work alongside something they find pertinent, poignant or inspiring from a past writer to contribute to the Dead Poets Jukebox.

The evening is open to everyone, there is no entry fee and those wishing to read or perform can just sign up on the night.

In total, floor slots are limited to five minutes per reader.

Bring a poem, bring a song, a favourite book or just drink, heckle or muse.

The new venture, entitled Muse, launches on Thursday, January 21, at 8pm.
