OFFENDERS on a Community Payback Scheme took part in a clean-up at an area blighted by anti-social behaviour.

Derbyshire Probation Service’s team started the project at Lansbury Avenue Park in Mastin Moor.

Old fencing was removed, overgrown trees cut back and a tidy-up took place.

Michael Walker, supervisor for unpaid work for Derbyshire Probation Service, said: “These offenders feel they are putting something back into the community and they can see the benefit of projects like these.”

Offenders have also posted letters to every house asking residents to log when anti-social behaviour takes place.
