Holymoorside and Walton Parish Council is the first in Derbyshire to attain Quality and Quality Gold accreditation under the new Quality Councils’ system. Pictured at the presentation from left to right are chief officer of the Derbyshire Association of Local Councils Sarita Presland, parish clerk Kate Brailsford and council chairman Councillor Martin Thacker.

Sarita Presland, Chief Officer of the Derbyshire Association of Local Councils, attended a meeting of Holymoorside and Walton Parish Council to present the Quality Council Accreditation certificate.

Sarita said: “It is a measure of commitment and ability. It gives confidence to both the council and their community that the council is both efficient and effective. It demonstrates that the council doesn’t sit on its laurels but seeks to continually represent the needs of their community.”
