PARENTS are campaigning for safety measures outside a pre-school after an accident and several near-misses.
Newbold Parish Church Pre-school handed Cllr Tony Rogers a petition calling for signs to reduce speed outside the school.
Cllr Rogers said the campaign was launched after a 16-year-old girl was knocked down outside the school and a mother walking with her child had her handbag knocked off her shoulder by a car.
He added: “Parents and the manager at the school have been concerned for a long time about the speed of traffic outside the school.
“I’m hoping a survey will be done on every nursery school where there is a threat and a danger from traffic. We would like to see a 20-mile-an-hour speed limit and warning signs.”
