Two men have been charged in connection with a bomb hoax in Clay Cross which led to residents being evacuated from their homes.
Police were called Victoria Street at 2.25am on June 26 to reports of a suspicious car and diesel allegedly being siphoned from a van parked on the street.
Officers were told there was an explosive device in the car.
Residents were evacuated and roads were closed for several hours as the car was examined. No explosive device was found.
Ben Inquieti, 20, was charged with a bomb hoax offence, possession of a firearm and theft of diesel.
Brett Inquieti, 23, was charged with two counts of theft of diesel.
The pair, from Eastwood, Nottingham, will appear before magistrates in Chesterfield on Wednesday.
