The Joint Transport Committee of Hathersage and Outseats Parish Councils met on Thursday, September 26, with Cllr Rosie Olle in the chair.
It was noted that the county council is about to start the statutory consultation process for proposed additional double-yellow lines near the Station Rd/Station Approach junction - giving residents the opportunity to comment. Regarding the ‘pinch point’ on Main Rd (near the chemists), the county council have sought a further site meeting with the committee soon, to consider possible minor improvement works.
The committee agreed a list of apparently possible sites for creating summer weekend overflow parking - when the village’s existing parking facilities can be overwhelmed - and will now discuss each of these sites with the relevant landowners. It was also felt that some extra parking spaces could be obtained in Oddfellows Rd carpark through permanently closing one of the two entrances, and this idea will be pursued with the district council. Residents are welcome to attend JTC meetings and to take part in the open forum at the beginning, when they can highlight any transport issues.
