President Pat Presland welcomed members of Old Brampton & District WI to the annual meeting on October 8, in The Schoolroom, Old Brampton. Lunch was served by the committee.
Helen Shaw from the local Alzheimer’s Society was presented with a cheque for £600.
Pat opened the ordinary meeting at which the treasurer reported a healthy surplus.
Future activities are: Reading Group - October 21; craft - October 22; Scrabble - October 28.
Pat read the federation report.
From November the group will meet in the Loundsley Green church Hall. Anyone interested in joining are welcome to come to any future meetings.
The president later opened the annual meeting.
A resume of the year’s events were read by the secretary. The president thanked the committee and members for their support throughout the year. This was followed by pictures of the year’s events.
Two members of the committee, Olive Hoddle and Kath Frost, retired, Mary Ball and Audrey Wigfield replaced them on the committee.
Pat Presland was re-elected as president.
Anne McPhee, WI advisor, thanked the president and WI for all their hard wood making another enjoyable and successful year.
Tea was served by the committee.
