A selfie taken in Derbyshire has been shortlisted in a national competition to promote ‘selfie safety’.

National Accident Helpline’s #SelfieSafety competition asks people to send a selfie from their favourite UK selfie location, with the chance to win an iPhone.

Shortlisted entrants have been asked if they took any measures to make sure their selfie was taken safely.

Alison Barlow, 43, from Ambergate, said: “The photo is of myself and my dog Looey dressed as Santa and Rudolph. In case you were wondering, I’m the one dressed as Santa!”

Alison highlighted the importance of making sure selfies are taken safely during the indulgent festive period: “The selfie was taken safely by keeping off the sherry beforehand!”

The competition is still open for new entries and you can enter by visiting https://www.national-accident-helpline.co.uk/accident-claims/accident-awareness-week#selfiesafety.
