Occupants flee Chesterfield house fire

The occupants of a Chesterfield house managed to flee their property after a fire broke out.

At 12.44am today (Sunday), firefighters from Chesterfield and Stavely attended the house fire in Matlock Road, Chesterfield.

The occupants of the house called emergency services after evacuating the property for their own safety.

Upon arrival, crews found a fire had broken out in the airing cupboard in the upstairs of the two-storey detached property.

Crews confirmed the fire was extinguished by 1.08am and they left the scene around 15 minutes later.
