Peter Vale has been keeping children at the school’s lower Starkholmes site crossing safe for about eight years.

The lollipop man said: “I have really enjoyed this job. The students start crossing the road with me in year 7 and I soon get them trained in road safety and never have a problem with them again. The kids are great.”
