Struggling families are being encouraged to save the Credit Union as new collection points open across North Derbyshire.
Collection points have been set up at North East Derbyshire District Council offices on Saltergate in Chesterfield, Rykneld’s base in Wingerworth and also at area housing offices located around the district.
CNEDCU is open to anyone who lives or works in Chesterfield or North East Derbyshire and is regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
Members can access simple saving accounts and low interest loans.
Council leader Graham Baxter said: “At a time when many families are struggling to manage their finances we would encourage people to consider the benefits of saving with the Credit Union – an organisation committed to providing ethical and fair financial services and support.”
People can save as little or as much as they like, starting from £2 a week.
