New recruits join Derbyshire Constabulary

A former barrister and an ex-DJ are among 16 new recruits joining Derbyshire Constabulary.

The 11 men and five women have been attested at a special ceremony held at police headquarters in Ripley on Friday, October 21.

Deputy Chief Constable Peter Goodman, the High Sheriff of Derbyshire Elizabeth Fothergill and police trainers were among those who welcome them to the force and their new careers.

Most of the officers in this latest intake come from Derbyshire, with others from neighbouring counties.

Derbyshire PCSO Jen Salmon has joined the Ripley division, personal advisor in care systems Josh Derrick joined the Chesterfield division, and housing benefit assessor and Derbyshire special Carina Petrillo joined the Ripley division.

Also, Daniel Tomlinson, Harry Hawkins, Charlotte Law and Adam Richmond joined the Ilkeston division.

A number were previously police community support officers, special constables or police staff.

DCC Goodman said: “It is a genuine pleasure to welcome these new recruits to the force.

“I wish them every success possible in their new careers ahead.”
