Emergency services were called to a car accident on Rother Way in Chesterfield on Thursday morning.
The incident happened at around 9.20am and involved a Vauxhall Insignia and a Chevrolet Kalos.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospital with minor injuries and a three month old baby who was also present in one of the cars was found not to have been in the correct restraint.
Police said the fact that no one was more seriously hurt in the incident was ‘pure luck’.
The road was closed for some time from the Sainsbury’s roundabout to both Rother Way and Chesterfield Road as emergency services carried out investigations and recovery work.
