A BRAND new purpose-built medical centre has opened its doors to patients in Clay Cross.

The state-of-the-art centre, on Bridge Street, will be the new home for doctors, nurses and practitioners from Clay Cross Medical Centre – and is set to cater for 5,500 patients, with plans in place to increase this number as the multi-million regeneration in the area gets under way.

The centre was officially unveiled by MP Natascha Engel at an open day on Saturday October 6.

Ms Engel said: “I am so pleased to have been asked to open the new Clay Cross Medical Centre. The new Centre, built as part of the Clay Cross Regeneration Programme, will provide a facility that is able to respond to local needs for many years to come. These modern facilities will offer patients a more comfortable and relaxing atmosphere when visiting the Centre and staff will also have the benefits of working in a 21st century environment.”
