A HIKER known as the Naked Rambler has denied threatening behaviour after he has been accused of entering a Castleton shop wearing no clothes.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Tuesday how Stephen Gough, 53, of Chamberlayne Road, Eastleigh, Hampshire, allegedly entered ASD Jewellers nude and spoke to staff member Deborah Gill.
Prosecuting solicitor Helen Griffiths said: “Gough asked where he could get gasoline for a heater and was given directions to a garage.”
Ms Griffiths claimed the staff member found his alleged nudity “disgusting”, it made her feel nervous even though she giggled and customers felt uncomfortable.
Gough, who appeared naked via a video link from a Nottingham prison where he was remanded after the incident last Thursday, November 1, was released on unconditional bail and his case was adjourned until December for a trial.
