Breast is best - that was the message as dozens of mums gathered to help launch a new service.
Families took part in an action packed week of activities to support a new website which promotes breastfeeding.
The service, run by Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, was celebrated with a picnic at Bolsover Castle.
Guest of honour was Bolsover mum Terri Lee who has a starring role on the home page of a new Breastfeeding Family Online website.
Terri, 27, from Nether Springs Road, said: “It makes you close to your baby but I do tell people that you need quite a bit of help because you spend a lot of time feeding.”
Lesley Wakefield, for High Peak and Dales Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Trust, said Bolsover had seen an increase in breastfeeding mums from 78 per cent in 2010 to 84 per cent in 2012.
The Bolsover event also saw the launch of a cute baby competition open to all families in Derbyshire whose babies have been breastfed. The closing date is the beginning of September.
