Motorist survives wall crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorist lost control of a car and crashed into a stone wall.

The 26 year-old man was driving a Honda car along the A61 Derby Road, at Tupton, near Chesterfield, about 4.05am, on Saturday, May 14, when the collision happened.

A police spokesman said: “As a result the driver sustained back injuries and was treated at Chesterfield Royal Hospital but later discharged himself.”

Witnesses who may be able to help establish the exact circumstances of the collision are urged to call Derbyshire Constabulary’s road policing unit, quoting incident number 143, on 0345 123 3333.
