Motoring offender found with drugs

POLICE seized drugs from a motoring offender, Chesterfield magistrates heard.

A Toyota Celica driven by Matthew Page was stopped in New Street, North Wingfield, at 1.40am on June 16.

Checks showed that his driving licence had been revoked and a search found a bag containing a small amount of amphetamine. Page’s home was then searched and a small amount of cannabis was found.

Page, 25, of High Hazel Court, Clay Cross, admitted possessing drugs and driving without insurance and a full licence.

He had been cautioned by police three times - once for possessing a Class A drug.

The bench fined him £315, with £85 costs. They banned him from driving for six months under the totting-up rules.
