Motorcyclist dies after traffic collision

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died after he was involved in a collision with another vehicle.

The motorcyclist was travelling along the B6425 Deepsick Lane, at Arkwright, about 4.30pm, on Wednesday, March 21, when the collision happened.

A police spokesman said: “A Suzuki motorcycle was travelling from Templeton Normanton to Arkwright when it was in collision with a silver-coloured Nissan pick-up which had been waiting behind a Ford Kia car which had stopped.”

Police told how the male rider was thrown from the motorcycle on impact and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Witnesses or anyone who may have seen any of the vehicles involved before or at the time of the incident are urged to call police on 101 or their road traffic appeal line in (01773) 572929.
