A male motorcyclist has died after a collision involving a lorry on the A38 in Derbyshire on Sunday morning.

The incident happened at around 10.45am on the southbound carriageway near Swanwick.

Police say the biker suffered fatal injuries after colliding with the lorry, which was stationary in a lay-by.

The road was closed for almost four hours after the crash and re-opened just after 2.30pm.

Shortly after, a car fire between Coxbench and the A610 at Ripley led to the closure of the northbound carriageway.
