A Soroptimist who has clocked up a half-century of service with Chesterfield Soroptimists has received an award from the Duke of Devonshire.

A Soroptimist who has clocked up a half-century of service with Chesterfield Soroptimists has received an award from the Duke of Devonshire.

Midge Thompson also received a bouquet from the Duke at a supper meeting of Soroptimist International of Chesterfield and District in Ringwood Hall, Brimington.

The Duke also presented 30 years’ service awards to Chris Adlington, Margaret Meeney and Anne Thompson.

He then gave an illustrated talk on the history of the art collections at Chatsworth, including his own interest for modern British art and contemporary painting and sculpture..
