Ripley Tennis Club Men’s First Team recorded a famous victory as they beat the defending Division One champions Duffield Seconds by 6 to 3.
Playing a major role in the win was the doubles pairing of Conal King and Matt Richmond, who won all three of their rubbers. Richard Wood and Mark Winson won two sets and Rob Hawkins and Adam Gross won the other.
Michael Hawley, although not able to contribute to the score with his partner Harry Latham, made a promising League debut for the Men’s Seconds in their 5-4 loss to Lakeside. Mike Griffiths and Anthony Wood scored two for Ripley as did Wynne Garnett and Terry Hawkins.
