YOUNG bookworms enjoyed a storytelling session with the town mayor to mark an annual reading celebration
Children at Hasland Infants School took part in the week of book-themed fun which included library visits and finding out about authors.
The event also saw the mayor Peter Barr and mayoress Jean Barr reading to the youngsters.
Cllr Barr said: “It was a very enjoyable morning.
“Even though a lot of the children knew the stories you could tell they still enjoyed listening to them - which just shows the importance of reading with children.”
