Some Post Office delivery offices in Derbyshire are to open on Sundays to help customers with the Christmas rush, the company has announced.
Offices in Alfreton, Belper, Matlock and Ilkeston will all open from 10am to 2pm on December 21 for residents in the county.
Tony Fox, Royal Mail operations director, said: “We are continuing to be more customer responsive and provide more options for people to receive items they have ordered online, especially at our busiest time of the year.
“We hope it provides a helping hand for customers during the very busy festive season.
”Customers can also help us by posting early and by the recommended posting dates and using the postcode on all mail they are posting.”
In September, Royal Mail launched a trial of 100 delivery offices including Derby to open on Sunday to offer moreconvenience and is also piloting Sunday deliveries in the M25 area.
Customers not at home when delivery is attempted can also arrange afree redelivery via www.royalmail.com/redelivery.
